Underfloor heating cable installation

Planning –

When installing underfloor heating cable system’s use our installation guide to make sure you
space the cables accurately. Now make sure you have calculated the correct m2 and have the correct sized cable spacing (see Instruction manual). This is to make sure the heat is the same over the whole floor. Heating wire can be 135, 160 or 200 Watt depending on the spacing – See this chart.

Start installing the wire once planning has been done.

  1. Make sure the floor is prepared ready for tiling
  2. Put down two layers of double sided adhesive tape at the start/ end and middle of each run.
  3. Following the careful marking of the cable space you’ve made.
  4. Start to fit the wire pushing it into the tape.
  5. The tape will now hold the wire in place.
  6. Fit the sensor cable from the thermostat
  7. If you have any wires sticking up use the tape to hold down.
  8. Now we recommend that you cover with self leveling compound.
  9. Get a part P qualified electrician to make the connections.
  10. Now you lay your tiles using a good flexible adhesive.
  11. Remember you need to wait two weeks before you turn your system on.
  12. This is to allow the adhesives to dry naturally.
  13. Enjoy your warm floor!
